Who you are contracting with

When you register for a race there are two contracts, and it is important not to confuse them.

The first is between you and the race organizer: it is the one that gives you the right to take part. The organizer is the one identified on the race page and the one who receives the entry amount.

The second is between you and Kursa, and covers only the service of handling the registration and the payment: the service fee. Kursa is not a party to the first contract and does not organize the event.

How the contract is made

You choose the race and the distance, you fill in the details of each participant, you accept the privacy policy and you pay. Before confirming you see the full breakdown: entry amount, extras, service fee and total.

The registration is formalized when the payment is authorized. You will receive a confirmation by email with the link to manage it.

The contract may be concluded in Catalan, Spanish, English or French, and it is archived electronically.

Prices and service fees

The price of the entry is set by the organizer and is always shown with taxes included.

Kursa’s service fee is 3% of the entry amount plus €0.25 per purchase, taxes included, and it is shown separately before you pay. It covers the platform service and the cost of processing the payment.

One-day federation licenses, when a race requires one, are charged in full on behalf of the corresponding federation and carry no Kursa commission.

Payment

Payments are processed through Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. by card. Kursa never sees or stores your card details at any point.

If the payment is not authorized, the registration never comes into existence and the place is released.

Right of withdrawal

Registering for a race is a leisure activity service with a specific date of performance. Article 103.l of the consolidated text of the Spanish General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users excludes these services from the fourteen-day right of withdrawal.

This means that there is no statutory withdrawal right for a registration, and we say it here because it is the point that surprises people most and the one that fewest platforms explain.

What you can do is whatever the organizer has enabled on their race: change distance, transfer the bib to another person or resell it. You will find it in your management link, and the conditions and the deadlines are set by the organizer.

If the race is cancelled or postponed

That is a decision of the organizer, and it is the organizer who must tell you what happens to your registration: a refund, a transfer to the new date or a credit for another edition.

When the organizer orders a refund, Kursa processes it through the same payment method you used. The service fee is refunded when the cancellation is not attributable to the runner.

Invoices

The receipt for your purchase is available in your management link. If you need an invoice with your tax details, you can request it from that same page: the organizer issues the one for the entry and Kursa the one for the service fee.

Complaints

If the problem is with the race — the course, the aid stations, the shirt, the results — the person to talk to is the organizer, and their email is at the foot of the race page.

If the problem is with the platform or the payment, write to us at admin@kursa.run. We reply within a maximum of ten working days.

As a consumer you can also go to the Catalan Consumer Agency (Agència Catalana del Consum) or to the consumer body of your region, and use the consumer arbitration system when both parties agree to it. Note: the European online dispute resolution platform stopped operating on 20 July 2025, so it is no longer an available route.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, the courts of your place of residence have jurisdiction.
